CATA a Member of Jay Fant Business Leaders Coalition Group

In an industry (fashion) where consumers believe size matters and the only products worth buying are the one's advertised by big companies (brands) in the media.... "CATA" is working to join small organic apparel companies together, creating one resource to serve the needs of conscious consumers across America.

Taxes, regulation and big government holds small businesses back from realizing their full potential.
As part of the Jay Fant Business Leaders Coalition Group we believe we have a voice.  "CATA" Consumers Against Toxic Apparel, LLC  goal is to set the precedence for organic, clean, safe and sustainable fashion with the support of many small companies making a difference in one BIG industry.

Volunteer brings entrepreneurial spirit to JA Career Day at Community Connections

JA blog story

Patricia Davis Creator of "CATA" recently volunteered for Junior Achievement Career Day.  She was honored with a volunteer spotlight blog.

It's never too young for girls to start learning how to take care of their bodies, dress appropriately and shop sustainability.

I expected the girls to be excited about fashion, every girl is, but I was ecstatic when they started asking me so many more questions about why I do what I do and how can clothes be bad for you. If you're a mom wanting to know more about Consumers Against Toxic Apparel and how to become a member, save on organic clothes just in time for back to school and protect your children visit:

Bgreen Apparel latest CATA Partner

Bgreen Apparel is the latest organic apparel company to join CATA.

Bgreen Apparel offers organic intimate apparel for men and women.

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards) Certified

About Us:

bgreen’s organic cotton apparel is made with your comfort and our planet in mind. Made in the USA, our designs are simple yet bold, and our fabric is soft yet durable. Our contemporary classic styles in colorful options provide fresh looks for your active lifestyle. Healthy for the environment, perfect for your body—a beautiful and smart choice for the entire family.

Our Mission is simple: offer quality organic apparel that looks good, fits comfortably and leaves the world a better place.

Our family has been involved in textile manufacturing for three generations. Our company’s commitment to quality, and social and environmental responsibility has enabled us to produce apparel for some of the best known brands, such as Patagonia. What's In Your Clothes?

Chemicals in your clothes you need to know about and what you can do to dress safely.

Have you heard of nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPE's)? What about carbon disulphide? They are chemicals commonly used in clothing manufacturing and if you live in the United States, you've absorbed both into your blood stream.

Nonylphenol ethoxylates are just one of over ten chemicals that are widely being used in clothes. The chemical has the ability to mimic natural estrogen hormones and is highly toxic. It is a hormone disruptor making it difficult if not impossible to have children. It affects our reproductive system and causes infertility. It's found in major clothing brands such as Nike, Adidas and Puma.

Carbon disulphide is most commonly used in the production of rayon fabric (modal-loycell-vicose-tencel). There's so much to say about the chemical that we're providing a link to an EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) report: We want you to see for yourself. The health problems associated with the chemical are simply too long for our article.

"CATA's" goal is to offer immediate alternatives in clean, organic and safe clothes by introducing you to the companies you've been looking for, helping you save and empowering you through knowledge.
